Sisuvala

Sisuvala is a roguelike card game loosely based on Kalevala and other Finnish mythology.

You wake up in a forest without a clue as to what has happened. The only thing that you know is that you must venture forth towards the Kipu mountains far in the north. To get there, however, you must fight off many foes from the Finnish nature and mythology, as well as encounter various mysterious events. Luckily there's an occasional sauna break to make things easier on your journey.

The game features randomly generated maps, encounters, 4 different character classes and almost 60 different cards for you to experience.

Be careful! The game saves your progress automatically and you can continue your adventure at any time, but if you die, then your current progress and map will be reset and lost forever.

Known bugs & issues

- The discard pile of cards is only shuffled once the player has exhausted the cards in their hand and in the deck. This means that if your last remaining card is the Sampo, then you cannot play it against anything since it's functionality is to clone another card. If it is the only card, then the game deck won't be reshuffled and the player can't obtain new cards. To avoid this bug, make sure that Sampo is not the last remaining card in your hand. If it is, then you can no longer win the game as you can only end your turn until you're defeated or you can return to main menu.

Roso Games

The game was developed by a group of individuals with no previous game development experience as a part of Roso Games 2022 project. The project was produced by Roso-tuotanto and its goal was to teach the participants about game development, introduce them to the basic game development skills, maybe nudge the participants towards new study or career plans, as well as help everyone hone their desired set of skills as they saw fit while doing so in a safe and friendly environment.

The game is now in beta and we've recently rolled out several updates fixing a few crashes and several minor bugs and gameplay balance issues. Other than that, we set out to create a game prototype during this project and with the game in its current state, we feel like we've more than accomplished that.
